- Veynote is a study tool. You're responsible for your own work and for following your school's rules.
- AI can be wrong. Check anything that matters, especially dates and grades, against your course site.
- Don't misuse it, share your account, or try to break it.
- It's free during the beta. Paid plans, when they come, can be cancelled anytime.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Henry Wright, who runs Veynote ("Veynote", "we", "us"). By using the Veynote app, the Veynote Course Companion extension, or veynote.com (together, "Veynote"), you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Veynote. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
2. Who can use Veynote
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You must give accurate account information and keep your account to yourself.
3. The beta
Veynote is in a private beta. Features may change, break or be removed, and we may limit how much you can use it each day. We'll try to give notice before big changes, but we can't promise the beta will always be available.
4. Your responsibilities
- Your schoolwork is yours. Veynote organizes, explains and teaches. You decide what you hand in, and you're responsible for following your school's academic integrity rules and your instructors' policies on AI tools.
- Check what matters. Veynote uses AI, which can misread a syllabus, miss a change, or explain something wrong. Confirm due dates, grading details and instructions on your course site and with your instructors. Veynote isn't responsible for a missed deadline or a lost grade.
- Your school's systems. You connect Veynote only to accounts that are yours, and you follow your school's terms for its course site and email.
- You press the final buttons. Veynote leaves submitting, sending, paying, deleting and sharing to you. What you submit or send is your decision.
5. What you can't do
- Use Veynote during a graded quiz, exam or proctored session, or to cheat.
- Share your account, resell Veynote, or let someone else use your plan.
- Try to get around usage limits, reverse engineer Veynote, or interfere with its servers.
- Use Veynote to break the law or harm anyone.
6. Your content
Your course materials, notes and messages stay yours. You give us permission to process them only to run Veynote for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. Your course materials may belong to your instructors or school; Veynote uses them only to help you study them.
7. Our content
Veynote's software, design and name belong to us. You may use Veynote for your own studying. Lessons and briefs Veynote writes for you are yours to use for your own studying.
8. Paid plans
Veynote is free during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we'll show the price before you sign up, payment will be handled by Stripe, and plans will renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; see the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Veynote and delete your account at any time by emailing support@veynote.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put Veynote or other people at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
10. No warranty
Veynote is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that Veynote will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
11. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Veynote isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost grades, data or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim about Veynote is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Veynote after that, the new terms apply.
